Late Sunday afternoon Joe Biden suddenly announced he will not be seeking reelection in a post on X. One minute later the White House staff found out about his resignation. Since then, it's been crickets from Biden. He hasn't addressed the nation or made a speech about his decision. The "most popular president" with 81 million votes has not explained why he's not seeking reelection. The last time he was seen in public was 5 days ago getting off Air Force One in Delaware to self-isolate for COVID. The rumor mill immediately went nuts with talks about Hillary Clinton and Michelle Obama, take it from me, Kamala Harris will be the nominee. Meanwhile, Biden-HarrisHQ was scrubbed from the internet and replaced with KamalaHQ. Amber Duke and Reagan Reese give us their thoughts on Biden's announcement and Barack Obama has not directly endorsed Kamala Harris. Johanna Maska gives a Democrat perspective on who could run against Kamala and who she might choose as a running mate. Today on the hill, Secret Service Director Kimberly Chealte testified before Congress. She got slammed from both sides of the aisle with multiple calls for her resignation. We will break down her testimony tomorrow.
